Steve's catalyst to lure fishing started way back in the early 1980's whilst visiting his fanatical lure fishing relatives in the USA. With his new found knowledge Steve first targeted Chub on his local waters and then other predators. It was not long before he had amassed a string of specimens of most species. With all specimens weighed independently by reputable anglers, it did not take long before fishermen and publicists alike began to take note and talk of the ground breaking lure techniques and methods he was implementing.

Endeavouring to push the boundaries of modern day lure angling even further he was soon being described as the 'Dick Walker' of lure fishing. Steve started his journalist career whilst writing at club level and progressed to becoming a highly respected writer in his field, contributing past and present for a number of major publications both here and abroad. Improve Your Coarse Fishing, Coarse Fisherman, De Roofis (Holland) and Fisch and Fang (Germany), to name but a few. He has fished at the highest level, representing Great Britain on many occasions as a competitor, and manager. Highlights include individual Silver and Team Gold in 1997 against the best in the world, South Africa, in their home country the first time they had ever been beaten. He still competes at this level as well as co-ordinating and managing the Great Britain Lure Angling Team (G.B.L.A.T).

Upon his return from his first international tour Steve started to target all species of fish considered non-predatory, such as Carp, Barbel, Roach, Rudd and Bream finding himself using all of the styles and disciplines associated with lure angling.

He is now recognised as the leading figure in all aspects of lure angling in this country, amassing an incredible specimen list.

In recent years he has found himself working in Television and Video, as well as demonstrating his skills and famous technical slide shows at seminars all over the world, helping many anglers throughout his career.

For many years Steve ran his own successful and popular guiding and tuition school, operating one to one and group lessons along with corporate hospitality in a wide variety of settings. With his experience at home and abroad we are pleased to have him on board as a guide, representative and consultant.
